Running trainers - gait analysis help

Pinkvici22 · 01/05/2018 20:45

Started running just over a year ago. Had my gait analysed about a year ago and bought running trainers (neutral). Running 5k a few times a week, did a 10K in September and since then running 2/3 times per week, varying distances 3-8k.

Feel like I need new trainers. Am I safe to buy new “neutral” same brand trainers or do I need to get my gait analysed again?

Thanks in advance!

If you average say 19 mikes a week, you've probably run over 500 miles in those shoes...

Most running shops/physics would say to think about changing after 400 - 609 miles so yes it probably is time

Given you were s new runner and it's been a year, it's worth going to a good running shop to review gait etc and see what they recommend this time ...

Mikes - miles
Physic - physio

Once you've been to s shop, you could then buy a second pair on line and rotate which shoes you use so they recover between runs... this allows the cushioning a chance to recover, shoes to dry etc

That’s really helpful, thank you.
