Training for half marathon best food for energy?

Hi I'm training for my second Great North Run in September. Last year I didn't train as much as I should have so this year I want to really go for it. I'm running 3 times a week but after each workout I'm starving. What is a good healthy snack for a post run? I need food that will keep my energy up. Any tips and ideas? Thanks.

High protein often recommended within 1/2 hr of finishing. I couldn't stomach it, but you could do simple glass of milk or piece of chicken, etc.

Glass of milk, banana, and if a long training run then flapjack
