Hello, I'm seriously planning to start training for a marathon to complete 2019. Does anyone have any tips on how the get started.

I can run 10K in about 65 mins, but I've taken a couple months off running so I need to get training. Is there a beginners club I can join? Thanks

You can download the my asics app and put in your goal distance and how long you want to give yourself and it will calculate your runs for you, im not sure if thats any help? Im tempted by a marathon next year too! Good luck with your training xx

If you can get back into running again then gradually work your way up. I think it can be useful to do do one or two Hal marathons before a marathon to learn more about what works best for your body in terms of training, fuelling etc. If you look around your area there may well be a running club you can join, you want one that is welcoming to all levels of runners. A good club is a great source of advice and support. If possible it is also good to do some cross training, such as swimming, or strength training, as exercises like squats can help prevent injury. Good luck!

I'm looking to do this too but I'm a lapsed c25k runner. So I'm gonna do that again then build on that.

Enter the ballot and if I don't get a place find a different marathon.

Any ideas where to find a training plan for a on runner to use. Have a year to train so I'm sure is doable - I'm not looking for speed just endurance!

Sites like women's running and runners world have training plans, as do BUPA and MyAsics.
