Hey

My DS, aged 12 has joined the gym. Rules there are that until he's 14 he must be supervised by me etc. I'm a newbie at the gym and in no way able to advise my son. He plays basketball and wants his workout to help with that. Any ideas for a workout that he could do? Weights too. He's currently a bit lost and like I said I'm in no way able to offer any real guidance lol.

Is there noone to give an induction?

He needs a proper induction from one of their fitness instructors. Weights particularly shouldn't be attempted without being shown how and what the limits are for his age.

The gyms I've been to usually won't let you use the machinery without an induction of some kind. Definitely ask staff for help.

He had the induction. He knows how to use the equipment, just wondering if there's any tips so he feels like he's had a good workout rather than trying a few bits here and there. He responds well to a routine. I think he's lost with all the equipment and options right now :)

The instructors should be able to come up with a good workout plan for him. My gym went through one and printed it off for me. Ask them.... it's what they're paid for! Smile
