I did this a few years and loved my app. I had a baby last year and have put on so much weight. I need to do something about it, and that starts tomorrow. I can't ren we which app I used before. I tried downloading a couple of others but they are a bit too 'American' for me. Too many 'good job's and telling me how awesome I am.

Can anyone recommend a good app that don't drive me mad? My last one allowed me to listen to my music at the same time too, which I quite liked.

Thank you. X

I used Get Running a few years ago and that allowed me to listen to my music or the radio.
I don't remember if it's annoying as you describe but I liked it at the time.

The NHS one is really good but I don't know if you can listen to your own music.

@Hookedoncatnip That's the one I used before! Thanks! Will be starting it again tomorrow. X

Yay! Go for it!

I'm planning to get back to the NHS one after a 6 month break. It should be better now that the mornings will be lighter.

One you couch to 5 k public health England app- you can choose Sarah Millican, Jo Wiley to talk and you can have your music on too. I've just started again this week

I like runkeeper.

JustGettingStarted · 25/03/2018 19:50

Oops. That's not a 5k app. Never mind.

Tailfeather · 25/03/2018 19:56

Maybe I'll move onto that one once I can manage 5k!

It's having a relaunch - Carol on BBC Breakfast is talking about it today

I used the NHS podcasts. The music is part of it. It's a little naff, but the pace is set well to run to. The risk of your own music is that it's easy to go too fast.
I found Laura gently encouraging without being over zealous or patronising.

Orangettes · 29/03/2018 23:26

I use a runmeter app and I use my own music, the music is a big part of my motivation and I really hate listening to naff stuff.
