Hi all. Im used to a really intense exercise regime. Legs, back and biceps, chest and triceps, shoulders and core, and cardio almost every day. It works for me but am finding it extremely difficult. I'm in ok shape, but have slacked off since I found out I was pregnant and am feeling it already. If I stick to stair master and light cardio and cut out the weight training to shorten my sessions, am I going to set myself back? Despite being pregnant, I still want to continue to tone and add muscle (of course in the safest most healthy way possible). Anyone any ideas for me?

yes you start losing strength after just one week off exercise. Weight training is fine when pregnant. Rather cut out the cardio.

I think the key thing in pregnancy is to listen to your body. You can carry on exercising but with a bit of caution. Many people carry on running throughout pregnancy for instance, but at a slower pace and for shorter distances. You will inevitably lose some fitness during pregnancy, but once your baby is born you can then gradually recover it. The most important thing at this stage is finding the balance between your exercise and your/your baby's health and enjoying your pregnancy.
