Which classes are easier for unfit middle aged women?
I can get my way around yoga class. That's about it.
I am terrified to join classes because from what I see accidentally seeing them when I am passing by everyone is very fit.

Where do I start?
I can run 30 min very slowly but this isn't very aerobic as is not faster than a fast walk. I walk a lot. That's about it about my fitness abilities
What are your tips for someone like me?

I did a Zumba class with some friends of similar unfit state. We pissed ourselves, literally. Like, LITERALLY Blush

I would try a kettle bell class. You can choose the weight you work with and it's not too cardio based as it's mixed with strength training.

I would say Zumba could be hard in your knees, but the classes do vary- Zumba gold or Zumba toning are a bit slower usually, and it is fun once you learn the steps so worth persisting! Clubbercise is good- aerobics with disco lights so no one can see you go wrong! Any Aqua is good as supports your joints and no impact. Also spin is great cardio and again okay for knees, but not as much fun.

I am a 1-stone-overweight 49 year old and do a 30 minute HIIT session 3x per week, then a Youtube women’s strength workout 2x a week. The HIIT is quite hard but it’s over quickly. I really enjoy it and my usually stiff and tender knees feel a lot better after I’ve done it. For 30 minutes you can survive most things! As PPs said, a good instructor will help you adapt the exercises you struggle with.

Good luck!
