Can any keen cyclists recommend decent padded cycling shorts, that don't cost the earth, and aren't too short.

Thanks!

At the cheaper end I found Wiggle's DHB brand to be reasonably comfy and the length of shorts was fine (I'm 5ft 6). Pad comfort is quite a personal thing though, what works for me may not work for you. Sometimes a bit of chamois cream helps.

Me too ! I have started cycling commuting but have had a raft of groin related problems including the worlds worst ever thrush episode

Ironically my old lady Dawes gives me no problems but the mountain bike does

Any more posts appreciated !

Do any other cyclists have this problem ?

I am skinny and struggle with lack of natural padding and piles so resorted to wearing two pairs at once. There are saddles aimed at females with holes in too.

May I ask what padded shorts wearers do during a period? I can sometimes feel a tampon when riding, and sanitary towels have their obvious disadvantages.

stopfuckingshoutingatme may I ask how far you're cycling. Because I haven't had thrush or a rash down below, which may just be luck on my part; I do about 15 miles 4 times a week.

Not that far ! Either 15 mins to tube or 45 to work . On work cycles I wear cotton leggings and chamois it’s the short commuter ones that get me . I have had 4 cases of thrush since I started in sept . And they stop me cycling too Sad
