So I'm on week 6 of C25k and I have a 25 minute run scheduled for Friday. Oh my!! I need some musical help. My current choices are woeful! What are you guys listening to? Thanks

I'm hugely unimaginative and use Apple Music playlists - I like the 80s, 90s and 00s workout ones

I listen to a Desert Island Discs podcast - there are so many, you get a bit of music, but then I absolutely love the interviews too. And they last for 30 mins, so exactly the right time for my run!

Forgive the dumb question - are you listening to music and the C25K coach voice ? I listen to the NHS one but I'm not excited about the music but I need Laura (or someone) dragging me along, telling me what to do when

BrassicaBabe · 12/01/2018 21:21

Ooh, you've all got me downloading podcasts now.

@didireallysaythat I run with endomondo going which tracks my distance, music playing and Jo Whiley talking me through c25k on the nhs app! The music is muted when jo whiley kicks in. Need to make sure your phone battery is charged!!

I listen to the Les Mis soundtrack and like to imagine myself on the West End stage Blush

If no-ones coming towards me I also mouth the words Grin

I run on deserted country roads sammy. Sometimes if I've got the energy I run like Phoebe from Friends while singing loudly to George Michael Grin

I’ve got the DJ mix from Faithless 20yrs album I just zone out to the thump thump but I only have one ear bud in and the other tucked into headband- I like to hear by breathing & have awareness of my surroundings. My DH has the bone conducting headphones and loves them. I need to try them out when he’s not around Smile
I tried books /podcasts but found my pace slowed a lot as I concentrated on “listening” to the story rather than focusing on the running.

SkiGirl007 · 13/01/2018 09:35

didireallysaythat if you use the podcasts I don’t think you can play your own music but if you use the NHS app you can play your music at the same time and it cuts in over the top when they talking. I switched to using Strava and my own music once I finished the C25k programme. I’ve set Strava to cut in every 0.5k with pace/distance then it goes back to my music.

PureRunning 2016 and 2017 - best running albums I have found

silverorange · 04/03/2018 01:55

Which programmes have you used on aaptiv Deadlylampshade? I haven't run in months and would probably need to start a C25K sort of programme. Thanks!

Iamblossom · 04/03/2018 09:49

Best running album I ever bought was pure running 2017
