Fitbit and 10,000 steps

I had a Fitbit for xmas. How useful is 10,000 steps really?!

I started C25k in December and I'm still going strong with that 3 times a week. I'm rowing twice a week, once indoor and once on the water. Prior to starting rowing in November I was a couch potato.

I ask because I've just found myself walking circuits around my bedroom to get my steps up! (It's a C25K rest day) GrinGrin

I had my Fitbit for Christmas so I've only been using it a few weeks.

Wish I could walk 25K, I have a desk job and its really hard to get the steps in. Saying that I have started walking up and down 4 flights of stairs everytime I go to the loo instead of using the one on my floor. I did 15K steps yesterday and that was a really good day, its usually close to 10K.
