Stomach/chest burns while running

Hi everyone!

I've just started running for the fun of it, and I've been noticing chest/stomach burns at the 500m mark (don't judge me I know my stamina isn't the best...yet!). This happens irregardless of how long ago I've had my last meal/what I ate.

Previously about a year or so ago, I've been told by my doctors that I have a weak LES and a hiatal hernia, so I was wondering if this could be the cause of that? Does anyone have any experience with this? Does anyone know if it'll subside once my stamina gets better?

Thanks for all your input!

It could be. Does it help if you take something like milk before you run? You could experiment with an antacid before you run.
I used to get a lot of reflux when exercising, it's much rarer now that I am fitter so it might improve for you.
