Just wondering if I could do this for next May. I really would be starting from the start though. Was running a slow 10km back in Feb but really haven’t done running since

From my limited experience I’d say get several good half marathons under your belt first and then think about applying to do a marathon

I signed up to my first marathon about six months beforehand. I was running 30km a week though.

There are marathon training plans that can get a beginner through with no specific time goal. They are 16-20 weeks long, but usually start from a position of 'you should be able to at least run 5k'. If you spend the next month getting your basic fitness up a little, youll be fine.

Which marathon is it? Obviously, a flat or downhill one will be easier for you.

Short answer: yes
