Manchester half marathon is great, very flat and lots of support!

Great Birmingham Half. Massive race, great atmosphere. 2.20 was about middle of the pack!

The larger the event the better it will be.
It's not just about tolerance, but how long the roads can be closed to traffic for. It's expensive to close roads so smaller events will get everyone through and then re-open a road, whereas larger ones will have the roads closed for the duration.

City events will attract more spectators.

What sort of time are you aiming for?

If you are in the South then White Star Running are very beginner friendly
