Protein powders / shakes

Do you use them?

I work out five times a week - mix of HIIT and circuits 30/45 minute sessions. Three first thing in the morning so exercise fasted and then tend to skip breakfast anyway which I get told off for by my trainers so they suggested adding a shake in after those work outs. Apart from skipping breakfast I do have a fairly decent diet with lots of real lean protein but probably not meeting 1g / lb body weight every day.

Shake for breakfast is fine. If you're eating enough protein, you don't even need to add protein powder. But you could add if you want to.

If you don't eat after training hard, then you'll end up losing muscle not building it. So just have some breakfast...
