Bleeding after running?

Does anyone else get this?

Recently started running again and the last few times I've been out I've had bad cramps and spotting afterwards for 1-2 days.

Is it reason to see a GP or just the result of extra jiggling around?

go and see the GP its probably nothing to worry about and most likely to be a cervical erosion/ ectropion but better check it out.

A few years ago I used to bleed after running. Usually after a hard long run (was training for a marathon around that time). I can't remember if it was painful and I can't remember when it stopped happening, but it did stop.

I saw a GP who didn't do anything, and then had some tests through private medical insurance, but nothing was found to be wrong with me.

Agree with the PP though, you should discuss with your GP just to be on the safe side.

Ok thanks both, doesn't seem to be much online about it so I'll go and see the GP.

Also get headaches after runnning despite drinking loads of water, I swear it can't be good for you!

Headaches possibly related to electrolyte imbalance. Try having a sports drink or a rehydration sachet after you finish.

Yes, I had something like this. I ran 5x10km per week (those were the days) and I spotted most days. I was also tic, and to my mind, I had semi-irregular periods 29-31 days. I was 32, and after a year of failing to fall pregnant, I went to the GP. To cut a long story short, after seeing a gyne and having a vaginal ultrasound, I had a polyp in my uterus about the size of my uterus. I was having recurrent miscarriages, but didn't realise.

My polyp was removed and I did fall pregnant. This was just over 12 years ago. I think it's worthwhile checking it out.
