Booked my first poleclass in years

So I did pole fitness before and loved it I was obsessed with it! But I think I pushed myself too hard too quick and got injured. I have now booked into my first class in years! It's about an hours drive from my house and membership is £80 per month and I can attend as many classes as I like! I'm soooo excited and a little nervous as I don't want any injuries

Dogmum - I was u well last week when I went to pole and didn't feel as strong but hey atleast we still went Smile

I took my dad with me last week to watch and the teacher said she will let her join in classes too so she is all excited for this Friday Grin I bet she will be much better than me

Last week was dismal. Got 5 classes booked this week and Ariel is back!

Last push before holidays....

strartingtotry · 22/08/2017 17:16

5 classes this week wow! How's it going?

My dd and I have a pole class tomorrow I'm really getting into it now, it's great when you can see your strength improving each week.

What day are you going to Ariel?

I just wish my inside of my thighs wasn't so wobbly

Another poler here! I'm going to start instructor training soon. Absolutely love it!

I have done other aerial bits but, for me, nothing compares to pole.

Iamtheresurrection · 22/08/2017 17:48

Two down and I'm struggling to sit! Aerial is Friday, can't wait!

You're making me want to try Pole properly.......

strartingtotry · 22/08/2017 21:19

Your going to start instructor training wow I'm so jealous! Where will you be learning to teach? I would really love to teach eventually but I know I wouldn't be good enough for a long time!

How long have you been doing it and how often do you go?

Do you do anything else to get into shape? I really beee to tone the inside of my thighs and feel embarrassed when I'm doing certain moves!

Oh well done on the classes and yes try pole you will love it Grin

I'll be training with XPERT. I've been doing pole for about 3 years but I train every day at home and I go to the studio 3 times a week and have private lessons weekly.

Don't worry about your thighs! The more you have to grip the pole the better Grin I do go to the gym as well as pole as my upper body is very muscular compared to my lower body now, but it's totally worth it Smile

strartingtotry · 23/08/2017 20:21

How long will the training take? You must be really good! I really hope I get to that stage sometime!

Will teach for a school or work self employed? I would love to teach what a great job Smile

I think I'm going to increase to 2 lessons per week and see how I go from there!

I don't mind if my thighs are big I just don't want the wobble Sad I don't think they are as bad as I make them sound but I want them to be firm!

Any idea what I can do to tone the inside of my thighs? The rest is ok. But your right bigger thighs are better for gripping, another girl in my class has a thigh gap and is desperately trying to build them up

Wow 5 classes in a week is really something!

I had silks last Thurs, Sat and then this Tues. Done Thai Boxing and Clubbercise in between so I am giving myself a rest!

Still using my pull up bar at home as I am really struggling in class with climbing, I just cant support my weight with my arms.

Getting stronger though slowly but surely and I really love my classes :) so glad I started them I am pretty hooked now.

Iamtheresurrection · 24/08/2017 22:20

4 down and I'm exhausted! Luckily the last class is aerial so l definitely go.

Dogmum - is your pull up bar fixed to the wall or on a weights bench?

Dogmum2017 · 25/08/2017 09:31

I am very impressed by your stamina and commitment. Bet you are looking forward to a well deserved break :)

I have the Gorilla Gym pull up bar. It is a really good bit of kit, got it cheap of a lady who was getting rid. I was wondering if the yoga hammock that you can get for them would help but don't want to invest in one if it isnt going to help me with the silks as that is the only reason I got it.

strartingtotry · 26/08/2017 21:55

Well done iam - sounds like you have a good week exercise wise Smile

Dogmum - the strength will get better with every class, I feel like mine does with pole.

So this morning I went onto fitness blender and found workouts for inner thighs and another for thighs and bum. I think if I do exercises every morning for my thighs it must do something even though the work outs were about 5 mins each.

I loved pole and aerial hoop. Had some time off recently after spinal surgery

strartingtotry · 26/08/2017 23:20

I can imagine it's a long recovery period after Spinal surgery, do you think you will make it back to pole and Ariel again?

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 26/08/2017 23:29

I hope so, I was back in the gym 8 weeks post op!

Dogmum2017 · 29/08/2017 08:12

starting I hope so! I feel like I am way behind the rest of the class because I cant climb. I dont struggle with the wraps as much as others though so I suppose we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Ollivander I hope your recovery is going well. Spinal surgery sounds pretty serious.
