Ripped in 30.....what next ?

Apologies if this one has been covered before but I've completed 30 day shred and am on week 2 of Ripped in 30. So assuming I survive to the end and judging by the workout this morning this is not guaranteed Grin, what next ?

I have No More Trouble Zones though haven't tried it yet. How do most people use this one ? A couple of different zones each workout or the whole lot ?

Thanks in advance everyone, I'd welcome some ideas.

I normally do the whole of NMTZ'S in one hit, twice a week tops. It's a heavy work out and I use a combination of 3 and 5 kg weights.

I've also got very into Jillians Killer buns and thighs, which again I try and do a couple of times a week too, this is as much of a killer as the 30 day Shred which I still love and often do.

I've been doing her dvd's for years now and at 45 I'm very happy and comfortable with my body!

Sometimes the whole lot on a weekend. Or on a workday, warm up, three circuits and cool down.
There's not much cardio on NMTZ.
You could also do the Shred again with heavier weights.
I am very impressed with whatis using 5 kg weights on some exercises.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 21/06/2017 11:30

I like NMTZ. I also have Banish Fat Boost Metabolism so I alternate them. At the weekends I do the all the sets and during the week pick 3 or 4 per day.

Thanks all, that's great advice. You lot are hardcore !

Having finally got around to completing the Shred I am impressed at the effect that its had and I'm now hooked on JM's workouts. I will get hold of Banish Fat and Killer Buns DVDs. Also a great idea about Shredding again but with heavier weights as my upper body is a bit weaker than I'd like. Early 50s and in better shape than I've been for a long time ! Smile

all great videos. I seldom do Jillian these days, but the ones I come back to are NMTZ and my favourite KB&T.

TheDogsMother · 22/06/2017 11:26

Thanks Rivers. Jillian is maybe a bit old school these days but there's no denying it's effective. They've arrived from Amazon today so no excuses now.

You can definitely improve your fitness a lot with Jill. I think it was NMTZ and her Six Week Six Pack that got me back to a 23 inch waist- she's unbeatable for core work. And her personality is really great. I think she's more likeable than any of the Beachbody presenters, though Shaun T's cardio is definitely harder. I think Jillian gets better and better as a trainer if you go through her DVDs chronologically.

Don't be afraid to go heavy where you can on the weights. For any kind of deadlifits or weighted squats, you can probably easily quadruple the weight, for instance. :)

TheDogsMother · 22/06/2017 15:49

Rivers a 23 inch waist Shock. That's amazing though not likely for me as I've never had much of a waist due to my short body. I can certainly improve it though. I don't actually know the chronological order so started with Shred, now Ripped in 30 and plan to alternate NMTZ and Banish Fat. A daft question probably but is Ripped Buns completely about the lower half ? Would I need to alternate with some upper body workout ? Good call about the weights, I'm currently using just 2 x 1.5kg so could probably up that over time. My shoulders screamed when I first started but and now doing most weight exercises with ease. I still find push ups tough though. Yep, I like Jillian. She's tough but good and far less annoying than Davina Grin

Recently, I did NMTZ and 6W6P back to back daily for 6 weeks. Just one of them didn't cut it. Once you find Jillian easy, I recommend Shaun T. I'm doing Insanity Asylum atm and loving it. P90X is good too.

I like Jillian and often come back to 6W6P for core. Body Revolution might be worth a look too.

Sorry for jumping in on your thread OP but does NMTZ have less cardio than 30DS?
I'm so unfit and the cardio bit is killing me!

ShowOfHands · 22/06/2017 16:04

NMTZ has no real cardio to speak of. It's challenging though and does raise your heartrate if you're lifting heavy enough and getting a full range of movement.

If you're struggling, are you modifying? Isn't there an easier Shred now? Sure I read something about it.

ShowOfHands · 22/06/2017 16:04

Just googled. There's a Beginner Shred. Is it worth doing that first?

Ilikecrocs · 22/06/2017 16:08

I do try to follow the modified moves. I love using weights but the jumping jacks etc make me want to throw up. Ive only just started doing it so know that I will improve in time. I didn't know there was a beginners one. Will maybe order that and do that first.
Thank you
