Help- I need your kick ass tunes ( running 5k)
Pringlemunchers · 07/05/2017 14:18
I have been walk/jogging 5k on the treadmill, for about 2 months. I am about to step out into the real world and really, really need some music. Something that pushes you on? Any recommendations?
Pringlemunchers · 07/05/2017 21:48
I don't have Spotify, but have been using Deezer, so will definitely make a playlist with these suggestions. There are some great tunes ( most of which I had forgotten about!). Thank you.
I went out for a walk this evening and there were loads of little bugs and dandelions floating in the air. What do you do about not breathing these in? Also, what about water, do you take a bottle with you or go without?
Wolfiefan · 07/05/2017 21:51
It's a bit nerdy but I like to look at the BPM. I try and get songs that fit my pace.
Pringlemunchers · 07/05/2017 21:51
I also love Queen- Don't stop me now ( I want that , as my funeral song, as I am going of for my cremation :0)
Pringlemunchers · 07/05/2017 21:53
What bpm do you look for Wolfiefan?
KatyBerry · 07/05/2017 22:00
New Order - blue monday / 60 miles an hour
black eyed peas & sergio mendes - mas que nada
run dmc - it's like that
Wolfiefan · 07/05/2017 22:04
I'm embarrassed now! I was running but knackered my back. Fast walking is enough for me. Is there a song that suits your pace? Look up the BPM of that. I think the Now That's What I Call Running and the like have the BPM next to the names of the songs.
Pringlemunchers · 07/05/2017 22:14
Oh good idea. I could not say I'm running, my pace is fast walking, breaking in to shuffle skuttle ,here and there.

I run to Beyonce's Lemonade. Nothing like a run accompanied by Queen Bey in kick-ass mode!
"I'm-a keep on running cos a winner don't quit on themselves!'
I may or may not have been singing this as I plodded up the road this morning
IJustLostTheGame · 15/05/2017 12:06
Prodigy is the best. Just don't get carried away with it and run like a winner with your hands above your head shouting 'FUCK THEM AND THEIR LAW'
You will scare the dog walkers
It was my first time running today.
I have a lot to learn.

Lots of good ones here. My current fave is 'I want to break free' by queen that's already been mentioned.
My ultimate running track is 'mr blue sky', it's a great pace and never fails to cheer me up and get me faster. Also love eye of the tiger (as in the rocky films).
Michael Jackson also has some great tracks to run to.

As well as my My Chemical Romance input (in which I also recommend "I'm not ok"), I also give you...
...Knights of the Round Table by Monty Python.
Made me smile, and sprint, when it came on via shuffle this morning!
Therealslimshady1 · 16/05/2017 22:38
