Where do you put your stuff when you run?

Belt? Pockets? Armband?

I've tried a belt (one of those Lycra ones you can flip over) and really like it but the problem is I sweat into it and my phone gets sweaty which is a bit gross!

My preference is pockets but I need to take both a key and phone, and having to wear an outfit with two pockets, and one big enough for a phone, gets quite restrictive in terms of what I can wear.

I haven't tried an armband yet because it looks like it would be really cumbersome and I don't really like advertising my phone to the world.

What do you find works for you?

I use one similar to this. Dead cheap but fits phone and keys and isn't too tight. I tried an arm band but mine got really sweaty and felt too big

Try looping your key onto a hairband or elastic band and then either threading it through your laces or the drawstring on your running tights, or around your bra strap. Doesn't solve the sweaty phone issue though. I put mine in a nappy sack in my tights pocket when it rains though - that might be worth a try?

Just out of interest, why do you need to take your phone? If it's for recording your run you can get wristbands for that.

Maybe for safety? Or music?

I use an armband for mine

I feel lopsided if it goes in my pocket

I spent my whole time pulling the armband back up it drove me mad.

I have a sports direct belt which holds two little water bottle, my phone/keys/inhaler perfectly.

I've got a little sports belt. Soon get used to it around my waist (I usually have it at the back).

StinkPickle · 01/05/2017 14:06

I put my phone in my sports bra. Key i just leave hidden outside the house

Running bumbag from Karrimor.

It probably doesn't look at all cool but it holds my phone, Oyster, keys and bank card (I like running somewhere, getting a coffee & riding back) and I can easily reach down and grab my phone if I want to.

I was looking at a flip belt but they are pricey. Now you are all saying they get soaked in sweat?

They are around £30 so probably not worth it then

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 01/05/2017 14:33

I've got a belt. My phone hasn't objected to the sweat yet Grin

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 01/05/2017 14:39

I use an armband. It doesn't feel at all cumbersome. The only annoyance for me is faffing to get phone out at end of run to stop my apps etc which adds on valuable seconds and so I can't easily rely on it for PBs and timings.

I think all of my running tights/shorts have a small pocket that a key will fit in.

When I run with my dog I use a harness (for dog) and belt and this belt fits a ton of little bags, head torch; it's got loads of room in it. Annoyingly the phone doesn't fit Angry

CMOTDibbler · 01/05/2017 14:46

I have a flipbelt for longer runs where I'm taking my phone - usually I have a tiny mp3 player which fits in my tights pocket with my keys. It doesn't seem to mind getting sweaty, but if its raining it goes in a sealable plastic bag which would do the job against sweat too.
I do have one thats more like a bum bag, but the bouncing annoys me so its reserved for really long runs where I'll need to eat something and its too hot for a top with pockets

BrexitSucks · 01/05/2017 14:55

I have a dinky flipout phone that fits inside even the dinky zip pockets that come with modern lycra running clothes. the phone is only there for emergency calls so dinky flipout version is fine. Or in my bra. Similar with keys or a bit of money.

I don't really need the phone. Keys can often hide them somewhere else or hold them in my hand even.
