Suitable snack for after swimming?

Hi there! Hope this is in the right place.

I'm 8 months pregnant, overweight but I am swimming 6 days a week, around 60 lengths at a time. After I get out the pool I am starving! I live about 10 minutes away and I usually go home, shower and have my lunch. I've noticed recently that I'm feeling a bit dizzy.

What would be a good snack to keep me going? I usually have porridge in the morning before I go. Would an apple suffice or maybe a cereal bar?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I would say a piece of fruit or cereal bar.

A banana.

Either would be fine but if you're getting dizzy I would definitely sit down and chill with a glass of water and a snack after your swim before heading home

I'd take a banana. They fill you up and you don't have to faff around with Tupperware or preparing stuff.

Going to throw a spanner in the works... allergic to bananas. Been eating cereal bars but I worry about the sugar content! Might try an apple :)

@BillyButtfuck I might try this. Swim finishes at 1pm and they are quick to usher us out for the school classes, but i might sit in reception. Thank you :)

Pitta pockets & humous if you have a small chill bag

crikey. good for you getting in all that exercise. I'm 8 months and about 3 months ago gave up any pretence and have been sat on my chuff in my office every day since going to wreck and ruin. I'm dreading getting back into the swing of things!

after swimming 60 lengths at 8 months pregnant i think you should eat whatever you bloody well fancy!

nursebickypegs · 23/03/2017 17:42

@HiMyNameIsUnknown that is literally my favourite snack in the world. Definitely going to pack that!!!

@jcne my midwife and obgyn are always lecturing me about my weight, and don't seem to understand that I am swimming loads and eating well!
