New trainers

I'm looking for some new trainers to use in the gym and on the treadmill. Can anyone recommend me some? I think I'll only run a max of 5k so I don't think I need a specific running shoe, do I?

I like Sports Direct... I need to go to a real shop & try on what they have to get a good fit. Whatever I bought & loved 1 yr ago won't even be available now, so just have to go somewhere with big selection.
