Triathlon training programme

I'm doing a triathlon in early spring & need to make a start on my training. I run 2-3 times a week us ally 5-6km sometimes a bit more but slowly & have historically done lots of cycling but not so much recently & my swimmer no is rubbish as I'm knackered after a length of crawl but start lessons in January so hopefully that will help Confused.

I've looked at the finish times from last year's triathlon and it is more serious than I've done in the past plus a smaller field so I need to seriously improve in all 3 disciplines to hold my own (or at least not come lastBlush). The event is 400m pool swim, 25km hilly cycle and 8km run so not massive but I need a plan to get me started and looks my at work/DC commitments reckon I can do something like this:

Monday: 30-40min run
Tuesday: 25/35km cycle
Wednesday: 20-30 mins swim
Thursday: 40/45 min run
Friday: cycle + swim or run (can make this sessions all 3 if I miss one earlier in the week)
Saturday: HIIT exercise class in the morning then swimming lesson PM
Sunday: rest

Once I've built my fitness up a bit and shred the few winter pounds I've gained recently I will look to do a more focused training plan (8 weeks beforehand?) but does this sound ok for the first 4-6 weeks?
