HIIT frequency and calories

I have been doing some HIIT work outs on YouTube. How long should I be doing them for and how often? Also how can I calculate how many calories?

I know a bit about the calories part... a good quality heart monitor (need chest strap) would calc calories for you BUT I can't get my HRM count to match any online formula, so I now distrust both the online formulae & the HRM estimates.

Why do you want to know the calories?

Calorie counting so I can have a treat on an evening (chocolate, wine)
