Does anyone do this regularly? How often do you have to go to get toned legs? I'm thinking of joining a class...

I was going 4 x a week with my DS.
Over a 3 month period it made a lot of difference. On fact I'm going back to it next week and have boked for Monday

Blimey, 4x a week... Shock

Do you think 3 would do?! Grin

Yeah, of course. I only went because son was nagging me to go!

Great. Do you get a similar endorphin release to running? I'm prepared for it to be v hard at first...

I don't run.
I put off spinning for many years because I thought it would be too hard and I couldn't do it. It is hard but that is the point!

Also there re different spinning classes. One instructor likes to get our hear rate up and keep it there for endurance another likes doing interval training. If you don't like one style or instructor try another one until you find one you like.

It is intense, but in a good way!

I am spin obsessed Blush but due to class times and work/family commitments can only go 3x per week.

I was really nervous in my first class 2 years ago, and thought it was horrible. It was so hard and I could barely climb. Once you get past that and improve technique it is amazing. The endorphin release I feel is better than running. It is the only exercise I have tried where I feel like I have had an insane work out once I have finished. My legs are very toned but unfortunately are very muscly, think it is because they are so short.

Glad to hear you're obsessed! And about the endorphin release. I really need that as I can't run at the mo so need something else.

Little do you do other stuff or is spinning your main exercise?

For the last 2 years I have done nothing but spin min 3x per week. Over the last fortnight I have cut down on spin to 2 per week with a run and swimming added. Feels good.

That sounds like the sort of mix that would work for me - assuming I can run again sometime! I've booked my first two spin lessons, the first on Friday. thumbsup
