I've recently lost 4st and am almost finished losing weight but don't know where to go from here?! I have loose skin at the top of my arms and my thighs could be a little tighter but I don't want to loose much more weight.... plus, I'm not the greatest fan of exercise either Confused so my question is, how do I tone up those problem areas without having to lose anymore weight, become really muscly or have to do really strenuous exercise?

That's amazing - well done! Could your dislike of exercise be linked to how you felt doing it when you were bigger? Swimming would be great for your arms, stomach and legs - you could go at the pace you liked.

Resistance training with weights would probably get the best results and you may find you enjoy it-it's not as painful and lung burning as running.
Don't worry about getting too muscly, it's really difficult for women to build big muscles, I've been working hard trying to build mine a bit and they're still puny!

I'm unsure why I don't like it but if I had to guess, it's the sweating that really bugs me and makes me feel yucky! Ha! As for the weights... what would be the best weight to start with? Thanks for your replies! Smile

Wow! Well done you! I'd like to know how you lost the 4 stone! That's what I need to shift. You must feel amazing. Very jealous! Sorry I can't help with the toning up, but I've heard great things about weights & using your own body weight & resistant training with those big bands! Goodluck OP

Are you a member of a gym? It's really important to get your form right so I'd really recommend asking someone to help you (or hiring a personal trainer). Alternatively body pump is great fun. My gym doesn't do it but I hear really good things about kettle bells classes.

Another big congratulations on the weight loss.

Swimming and walking. Get a waterproof MP3 player listen to audiobooks in peace. Heaven!

Thank you all Grin I lost it through following the slimming world plan, I love it and feel so much healthier, the transformation big on the outside but is huge on the inside! So much more energy etc....
No, I'm not currently with a gym but thinking I need to sign up!
I might start swimming as I love doing that and it's so relaxing too! Would that give me an overall workout?
Thanks for all of your replies Smile

Wally, can you recommend an MP3 for swimming?
