Smelly gym stuff

So, up and out to parkrun this morning, and stick on top, to realise it's not smelling lovely and fresh....
Even although it was washed yesterday...
This is an ongoing problem in my life.
I realise at the end of the run - I don't smell as fresh as disuse, but I would like to start the day that way!!

I can't be the only one - what does everyone else do please!!!

Is it only your gym stuff or do other clothes not get that clean?
Is the gym kit bag itself very stinky?

DrAdmin · 16/07/2016 13:29

I put vinegar in the washing machine drawer - helps to neutralise smells

HuckfromScandal · 16/07/2016 17:34

Not kept in a gym bag.
I shall try the vinegar though.

Have rewashed everything on a 40 degree again.
And slightly better smelling now!!

And all other clothes are fine.
Definitely just a stale sweat smell from running stuff.

Halo sports wash keeps all our kit (and we have a lot of seriously sweaty kit) nice and fresh, and seems to help keep the lycra in good condition.
I buy it from Wiggle.

How soon after wearing it do you wash it? I chuck mine straight in the machine when I get in, it seemd to work better than if it's allowed to fester.

Add a splash of disinfectant to the washing machine , i do that with hubbys work tops he does a physical job and his work provide lovely non breathable work tops bleurgh (i buy 5 litre bottles of kennel disinfectant as it has a strong smell i usually buy baby powder scent it works really well )

I use bicarbonate of soda every few washes on my stink accumulating too.
