Are the machines accurate?

So when a rowing or a running machine says you've run x kms, is it accurate?

I am really unfit but trying to do something about it. So when I run and it says I've done 1.5kms, I am staggered. So I don't think it can be true. Same for rowing.

Is it?

Yes, I think the distance is accurate. Machines are easier than out door exercise so I think if you've got decent music or tv a treadmill or rowing session isn't too painful.

Don't pay any attention to the calorie counts though. And I'm not sure the pulse / heart sensors that you put your hands on are accurate either.

Lol. It's painful no matter what!
