Waves of nausea when running

Does anyone else get this? A wave of nausea so strong that it feels like you're going to pass out/throw up?

Definitely more likely to experience this around my period, but not only then.

What do you do? Stop for a few seconds or run through it?

TIA

Hmm, how do you feel the rest of the time? I loved running, then had a massive, massive period back in January and had to stop as I was so weak, feeling sick and really struggling for breath. I finally went to the doctor about a month ago - anaemia.

I'm getting back to running and am starting to feel stronger now I'm taking iron. The fact that it's worse when you're on your period suggests a blood test might be an idea. Hope you feel better soon, it's no fun Flowers

Thanks. Totally fine the rest of the time - have no other tiredness symptoms at all.

A friend of mine experienced pretty much what you described and she also went into find out that she was anaemic.

I don't have any other tiredness symptoms at all, so not sure if it's that. Though it does remind me of the type of period pain I used to get pre having babies, which I'm sure was something to do with restricted blood flow and I regularly used to throw up and keel over.

could be related to having eaten too recently?

Running too hard? Some of the macho blokes at my circuits class have to leave for the toilets when they get too competitive to handle!

What's in your stomach when you run? I have to be very careful about what I've eaten and when. Pre-run .dairy is a disaster for me. I need a little light fuel, but can't eat anything more substantial than a cereal bar in the hour before setting off.
