Looking for recommendations of whether just to buy bigger or specific maternity sportswear. Any recommendations for belly supporting clothing welcome.

I suppose it depends on what exercise your doing. I know with running and horse riding I just wore bigger sizes and a well fitted bra

I bought larger sizes with bottoms with a soft roll top that could go on the bump at first, then gently under the bump. In reality I can only exercise properly in the first half before SPD kicks in, so I'm not massively bumpy at that stage so expensive specialist clothes would be a bit of a waste for me.

Cycling - gave up at 10 weeks

Running - good sports bras, comfy capris or shorts that sit low on the hips and up 1-2 sizes in tops

Swimming - maternity swimwear is horrible so I've just bought a swimsuit one size bigger in a brand that runs large

Gym - similar to running gear really

Fittamamma do a very decent bump supporting top and capris with a lightweight bump band.

But tbh, considering the price difference, I'm just as happy in cheap Decathon capris (the yoga ones with the fold over top are great for running), a decent soft cup sports bra (shock absorber or Freya Active) and a decathlon t shirt in a bigger size.

Am starting to look for a bump band for running though, as have a huge bump now, but haven't found anything suitable yet.

Pulled leggings waistband over bump and cycled to 38 weeks. Pulled jodhs over bump and rode horses to 25 weeks. But my bump was neatly packaged. Didn't get into running till after spots.

Spots??! SPROGS!

Wore my normal bottoms, just under the bump, and longer length but otherwise normal tops. Those ones are nice and long - www.sportsdirect.com/la-gear-longer-length-t-shirt-ladies-343098?colcode=34309806
or this - get a bigger size and tie under bump www.sportsdirect.com/la-gear-fitness-vest-ladies-341450?colcode=34145024
Good sports bra is important.
