Fitbit charge hr or something else?

I need something to kick me into doing just a bit more exercise. I also am not sure how well I sleep, and have a family history of heart problems, so thought this might be good. But I've never even seen one nor heard of any other make. So would this be a good idea?

I have tried a simple pedometer but always seem to lose them, so thought a wristband one might be better?

Any advice welcome

I have just got a Fitbit charge hr today and I am in love with it. I was using map my run and mfp apps on my phone but think the Fitbit app covers it all.

I have a regular Fitbit Charge and I love mine too. (I've had it for nearly 3 months).

I would not use the HR or really any other 'amateur' piece of kit to diagnose a heart problem, so I would be a bit cautious about it on that basis. If I was getting another one I probably would get the HR so I could see how often I was managing to raise my heart rate rather than just plodding along.

I definitely feel better and find the daily goal of a certain number of steps a great motivation. If you can find others with a Fitbit you can do a weekly challenge where you compete against each other for the most number of steps, which is also a great piece of motivation.

I like the recording of sleep as well - it's not perfectly accurate but it's a great tool to remind me to get to bed earlier.

I use mine alongside MyFitnessPal for calories and Runkeeper for mapping/tracking exercise - I already had quite a lot of history built up in Runkeeper so didn't want to switch over to the Fitbit app for that, otherwise I would have done. MFP has a better food database I believe, but they all integrate together.
