Jillian for July - it may be hot but that's not going to stop us!

Slight delay in creating a July thread - here it is.

Body Rev phase 3 week 12 workout 11 done. One more workout to go and I've finished Body Rev. Today was a bit half-arsed, sadly - it was just too hot to work really hard.

L1D3 today. I felt better than yesterday but I'm beginning to think I'm going to need to keep doing L1 for quite a while!

MsRaspberryJam · 24/07/2015 20:49

I did workout two of Kickbox Fastfix this morning. I find this DVD to be one of the most fun Jillian. I can tell that my punches have improved!

OublietteBravo · 24/07/2015 21:24

Today I did 30DS L1D9. Too tired to do any extra circuits.

OublietteBravo · 26/07/2015 14:16

I had a rest day yesterday. Today I was feeling particularly motivated, so I did:
30DS L1D10
6W6P L1D2
KB&T L1D1

I'm amazed I managed it Grin - I'd never have been able to do this amount of exercise 8 weeks ago. I can only assume that I'm getting fitter.

ImogenQuy · 27/07/2015 06:39

Wow, Oubliette, that's astounding! So impressed.

I'm back from my holiday and did the lower body workout from Killer Body this morning. Lots of jumping and a lot of combinations I haven't done before so for someone with my terrible co-ordination it was a bit of a slow start as I spent too much time falling over. Good workout though, I think - will try core tomorrow (I'm working up to the upper body one because I know there'll be loads of planking).

gincamelbak, I love your name! What I need after a holiday with DS...

Hello all
May I scrape in here at the end of July? After a go in feb and March, I'm having another shredding prior to my hols. 35 days or so till hols....reckon I should be just about able to get a shred in if I make an effort. L1 D1 done today.

I'm very v impressed to see names I remember from the winter still going strong. blody imogen and raspberry amongst others!

MadameJulienBaptiste · 27/07/2015 17:31

I am up to d6 L3 30ds today. Taken me about 8 weeks to get here via beginner shred.
was wondering what to do next think I'll order ripped in 30.
Since level 2 30ds have been doing 2 or 3 days on then 2 days off. Working much better for me that way.

OublietteBravo · 27/07/2015 19:20

I've moved on to 30DS L2 as my warm-up circuit. Today was D1.

I followed up with Ri30 L1D3. Feeling rather sweaty now, so off for a shower...

Aside: DH has been rather dismissive of my collection of Jillian DVDs. Yesterday he decided to do 30DS L1D1. I think he was suffering a bit at the end Wink

trilbydoll · 27/07/2015 21:16

I'm feeling quite faint at the thought of 30ds being a warm up - that's my new ambition I think Oubliette!

L1D4 today after a disastrous weekend of nothing. Decided to up my weights to 460g jars of chicken sauces, really must start using actual weights.

MsRaspberryJam · 27/07/2015 22:53

Welcome back, CheshirePanda!

I have been away from home, so doing some Ballet Beautiful (in a cupboard). ...Ouch

ImogenQuy · 28/07/2015 07:54

Good to see you again, CheshirePanda. Wish I had a holiday still to look forward to - we had ours last week.

Killer Body core workout today. Total disaster - it takes so much co-ordination and I'm really struggling. (Example: sit-ups flowing over in to a plank into a knee tuck and back to flat on your back.) Plus I realised half way through that I'd forgotten to put the bins out so had to dash out and do that before finishing the workout.

Kudos, MsRaspberry - Ballet Beautiful is for the seriously hardcore! I'm going to go back and have another go at it when I'm feeling brave.

I've just done 30DS L2D2. I'm tempted to do 6W6P later.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for the plumber to arrive. I hope I haven't lost all motivation by the time he is done.

CheshirePanda · 28/07/2015 18:17

Thanks Raspberry and Imogen. Nice to be back. L1 D2 done today. It went faster than yesterday, which was good. Bit sore but hey ho. I'm intrigued by the ballet in the cupboard... I will look at that online later

trilbydoll · 28/07/2015 19:08

L1D5 today, wondering when to move to L2 - doing proper push ups or the moves like Natalie does seems unachievable atm.

I have no coordination at all Imogen - I will have to remember killer body might not be for me!

OublietteBravo · 28/07/2015 21:19

Just done 6W6P L1D3. I think it hurts more when I don't do it immediately after 30DS Confused

ImogenQuy · 29/07/2015 07:29

Killer Body upper body workout done. Having left this till last because I thought it was going to be the worst of the lot, it actually demands rather less co-ordination than the others (and there isn't as much planking as I feared, though there is inevitably some). I think I'll keep going with Killer Body for a couple of weeks and see if the workouts get better with familiarity.

trilby, loads of us can't do proper Natalie-style push-ups, and in some ways L2 is easier than L1. Most people move to L2 after doing L1 ten times.

CheshirePanda, Ballet Beautiful looks like nothing at all but is absolute agony. I actually gave up on the arms workout five minutes in because I couldn't take any more.

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 29/07/2015 07:48

I can't manage Natalie style push-ups in L1 - at least not for the full amount of time x2 (although I can do the full walking push-ups in L2). I also think the lunges get easier after L1. Oh, and don't feel bad about using small weights - I only ever use 1kg ones, which is enough for me.

CheshirePanda · 29/07/2015 17:56

L1 D3 done. Happily it was much easier than day 1 and 2. I've swapped star jumps for something else as 2 days' worth have already hurt my knees (every. single. time. Will I ever learn?)

I looked at Ballet Beautiful. It's v posh isn't it? I would have to brush my hair etc if I did the online live classes, so prob not ideal! But it does look effective. Clearly Raspberry is HARD CORE!
On a similar note, does anyone remember Callenetics (from about 1988?). That was lots of tiny movements which looked easy but caused agony.

OublietteBravo · 29/07/2015 18:55

This evenings circuits were 30DS L2D3 & Ri30 L1D4.

DH seems to have given up - he's not repeated his 30DS experience anyway!

trilbydoll · 29/07/2015 20:12

L1D6, with 1kg weights, my MIL brought mine back this eve. Oubliette - will your DH now never mention Jillian again?! Grin I don't think my DH would dare question how hard it is, we watched her on Biggest Loser, we know she's scary!

MsRaspberryJam · 29/07/2015 20:47

I have been doing Jillian since first starting the Shred in August 2013, so I have got quite strong over the years. I can just about force myself through Ballet Beautiful sets, but only with a face screwed up like an angry, constipated pig!

She is posh, CP. I am extremely envious of the way she neatly folds up her long legs!

It sounds like Oubliette is packing in more Jillian than all of us put together. Well done you!

I am planning to get up early and work out. I've got so much overtime in the next couple of weeks that I think I will really struggle to get much done at all. Ten hour shifts and a young child do not leave much time to myself at all. Bum!

gincamelbak · 29/07/2015 20:53

Well done Oubliette!
I did 30DS L1D3 on Monday, and today i did a 5k with the baby in the running pram. I think I'm going to run Monday/Wednesday and shred on a Tuesday. And shift up to L2 next week...

I just struggle with the lunges to the side as they huuuurt my knees!

ImogenQuy · 30/07/2015 07:27

Killer Body lower body workout done. Better than Monday (though that's not saying much!). I'm modifying a couple of the cardio intervals because I haven't got the co-ordination to jump and simultaneously kick one leg forward and one leg back and I have visions of crashing onto the floor and breaking something. Possibly the floor.

I've got a week off work next week and I'm dithering between carrying on with Killer Body and having a crack at the One Week Shred. But the One Week Shred would be a hell of a lot of cardio and, as I may just possibly have mentioned once or twice on these threads, I really hate cardio.

Oubliette, I bow down. I've never done back to back Jillian.

CheshirePanda, I remember Callanetics! The Sunday Times did a pull-out for each workout and it huuuurt. I gave up after a few weeks.

Back on the Jillian express (poot poot!). Bought a JM DVD set and completed Hard Body earlier for the second time this week - oof! Bit sad didn't manage to finish 30DS (again), but am still fitter and stronger than I was two months ago so happy overall.

Good to be back - seems Jillian is for life, not just for Portugal. Grin

OublietteBravo · 30/07/2015 18:34

Feeling tired today - I had to force myself to do a second circuit. I've still managed 30DS L2D4 & 6W6P L1D4.

I'm hoping DH will be home in time for us to go out to dinner - I think I've earned any calories I might chose to eat Grin
