Slight delay in creating a July thread - here it is.

Body Rev phase 3 week 12 workout 11 done. One more workout to go and I've finished Body Rev. Today was a bit half-arsed, sadly - it was just too hot to work really hard.

Welcome, Silvertap, and good luck. The first three days are the worst...

I've just started an August thread for us all here. I've also pledged to have a crack at the One Week Shred while I'm on holiday this week - I may be completely insane! I might take a leaf out of Oubliette's book and do the workouts back to back: the DVD assumes you'll do strength in the morning and cardio in the evening, but I don't think I can be bothered with showering twice.

Thanks for the info, UnalignedAnt. 45 minutes is too long for me when I'm working- 35 is my limit, and that's sometimes a bit tight - but I might get it for holidays.

Hello. New to this thread, hope it's ok to join.

DD is now 9 months old and I've lost 3.8 of the 4(!!) stone I put on. I look a bit of a saggy mess and have the last few pounds to drop.

I dug out a 30 day shred DVD I had sitting around yesterday and I've set myself the challenge of completing it in August never having done it before. Nowhere on the DVD does it say what to do with the levels! I've started with L1 as that's about my max at the mo though.

Did day 1 yesterday and Day 2 today. Thought I'd post here to try and motivate myself. I'm a harvest widow at the moment so the only chance I get is when the kids are in bed.

Very impressed with some people on here doing 45 min Jillian workouts, I think that would kill me!

Hard Body again today - third time this week (woo!).

I like it, Imogen - there're six circuits you complete twice overall, so the whole thing lasts around 45 minutes. The exercises are tough; suicides, surrenders, burpees with weights, walking press ups with mountain climbers...I sweat rivers. I don't find it as repetitive as 30DS and look forward to it, weirdly enough. Oh and there's two levels - I'll be staying on L1 until I master a proper press up!

DD has decided that as I look like a saggy marshmallow when I sit down (thanks DD Confused), I need to Shred every day for the rest of the month, at which point I'll get a treat god knows what that's likely to be.

So 30DS L1D1 done first thing this morning, smiley face on the calendar to show I've done it Smile. I've never made it past L1 before, not have I moved past following Anita, but I'm hopeful that by September I'll be less marshmallow and more something else Wink.

L1D8 of the shred. I'm very impressed by the triple session.

Ow - my abs hurt!

This morning's session was:
30DS L2D6
30DS L3D1
6W6P L1D5

I'm hoping to complete my second run through of 30DS before I go on holiday on 18 Aug, so I'm going to need to keep doubling up...

I thought I would try something a bit easier today and do level two of the Shred.

Oh my god - it wasn't easy at all!! Respect to you ladies who are still Shredding. I forgot about the V raises, and the plank jumps and jacks, and those damn plank twists at the end.

I had the shakes afterwards!

Yes I alternate jillian and davina and tried 6w6p Level 2- jeez, I ached for three days. Won't be trying that one again for a while!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 31/07/2015 18:55

I'm doing 6W6P intermittently Mamma - I agree it is tough.

That said, today I didn't do that particular work out. Instead I did 30DS L2D5 and Ri30 L1D5.

I'm having a rest day tomorrow. I've done enough Jillian for one week!

Hi all
is anyone doing 6 week 6 pack? I thought 30ds was bad but wowzers it's tough!! Hmm

mmack · 31/07/2015 16:31

I only got to L1D7 as this week was really busy but I'm planning to start again tomorrow and still finish the 30 day shred before the end of August.

Killer Body core workout done. I'm too uncoordinated for this one: the third circuit just has me flailing around trying to keep up.

Welcome back, UnalignedAnt! I haven't tried Hard Body. What's it like?

Oubliette, hope you managed to go out for dinner!

Feeling tired today - I had to force myself to do a second circuit. I've still managed 30DS L2D4 & 6W6P L1D4.

I'm hoping DH will be home in time for us to go out to dinner - I think I've earned any calories I might chose to eat Grin

Back on the Jillian express (poot poot!). Bought a JM DVD set and completed Hard Body earlier for the second time this week - oof! Bit sad didn't manage to finish 30DS (again), but am still fitter and stronger than I was two months ago so happy overall.

Good to be back - seems Jillian is for life, not just for Portugal. Grin

Killer Body lower body workout done. Better than Monday (though that's not saying much!). I'm modifying a couple of the cardio intervals because I haven't got the co-ordination to jump and simultaneously kick one leg forward and one leg back and I have visions of crashing onto the floor and breaking something. Possibly the floor.

I've got a week off work next week and I'm dithering between carrying on with Killer Body and having a crack at the One Week Shred. But the One Week Shred would be a hell of a lot of cardio and, as I may just possibly have mentioned once or twice on these threads, I really hate cardio.

Oubliette, I bow down. I've never done back to back Jillian.

CheshirePanda, I remember Callanetics! The Sunday Times did a pull-out for each workout and it huuuurt. I gave up after a few weeks.

Well done Oubliette!
I did 30DS L1D3 on Monday, and today i did a 5k with the baby in the running pram. I think I'm going to run Monday/Wednesday and shred on a Tuesday. And shift up to L2 next week...

I just struggle with the lunges to the side as they huuuurt my knees!

I have been doing Jillian since first starting the Shred in August 2013, so I have got quite strong over the years. I can just about force myself through Ballet Beautiful sets, but only with a face screwed up like an angry, constipated pig!

She is posh, CP. I am extremely envious of the way she neatly folds up her long legs!

It sounds like Oubliette is packing in more Jillian than all of us put together. Well done you!

I am planning to get up early and work out. I've got so much overtime in the next couple of weeks that I think I will really struggle to get much done at all. Ten hour shifts and a young child do not leave much time to myself at all. Bum!

L1D6, with 1kg weights, my MIL brought mine back this eve. Oubliette - will your DH now never mention Jillian again?! Grin I don't think my DH would dare question how hard it is, we watched her on Biggest Loser, we know she's scary!

OublietteBravo · 29/07/2015 18:55

This evenings circuits were 30DS L2D3 & Ri30 L1D4.

DH seems to have given up - he's not repeated his 30DS experience anyway!

L1 D3 done. Happily it was much easier than day 1 and 2. I've swapped star jumps for something else as 2 days' worth have already hurt my knees (every. single. time. Will I ever learn?)

I looked at Ballet Beautiful. It's v posh isn't it? I would have to brush my hair etc if I did the online live classes, so prob not ideal! But it does look effective. Clearly Raspberry is HARD CORE!
On a similar note, does anyone remember Callenetics (from about 1988?). That was lots of tiny movements which looked easy but caused agony.

OublietteBravo · 29/07/2015 07:48

I can't manage Natalie style push-ups in L1 - at least not for the full amount of time x2 (although I can do the full walking push-ups in L2). I also think the lunges get easier after L1. Oh, and don't feel bad about using small weights - I only ever use 1kg ones, which is enough for me.

Killer Body upper body workout done. Having left this till last because I thought it was going to be the worst of the lot, it actually demands rather less co-ordination than the others (and there isn't as much planking as I feared, though there is inevitably some). I think I'll keep going with Killer Body for a couple of weeks and see if the workouts get better with familiarity.

trilby, loads of us can't do proper Natalie-style push-ups, and in some ways L2 is easier than L1. Most people move to L2 after doing L1 ten times.

CheshirePanda, Ballet Beautiful looks like nothing at all but is absolute agony. I actually gave up on the arms workout five minutes in because I couldn't take any more.

L1D5 today, wondering when to move to L2 - doing proper push ups or the moves like Natalie does seems unachievable atm.

I have no coordination at all Imogen - I will have to remember killer body might not be for me!

Thanks Raspberry and Imogen. Nice to be back. L1 D2 done today. It went faster than yesterday, which was good. Bit sore but hey ho. I'm intrigued by the ballet in the cupboard... I will look at that online later
