How do I make hills easier?

I'm able to do 6 or 7 km quite easily now. But the hills are going to kill me. I deliberately did a hilly run this morning and died after 4.5km.

How can I make hills easier? Do I just go up and down a hill until I either die or master it?

  1. Practice.
  1. Do some cycling as well, that works out the "hill" muscles.
  1. Do 10 x 30 second sprints in your normal run with 30 second / 1 minute rests.

Don't be disheartened, you're doing really well Smile

Would the 30 second rests be stopping or walking or slow running?

Alrry. That's me. Mobile has other name saved

Walking or jogging. I tend to use my (cul de sac) lane. Sprint up for 30 seconds and then slow jog back, but you can incorporate it into any run, e.g. fast sprint for three lamposts, slow jog for three etc. etc.

Fab. I'll give it a go.
