Shin splints

What do they actually feel like? I have pain in both legs that feels like the bone about 3 or 4 inches above the knobbly ankle bit (inside of my leg) is bruised. If I try and run it is agonising. I assumed it was my shoes, as bilateral, so had 6 weeks off and bought new shoes. Done two runs (6-7km) and now it is back. It's not a stabby pain, it feels like a bad bruise. I could just cry, I can't seem to do anything right at the moment and this is just the last straw. I though shin splints were a stabby pain, but is that true?

Shins splints are normally up the middle of The leg - it could possibly be tendonitis

Possible to get that in both legs at the same time? That's why I assumed it was my shoes.

Yes it is possible - it's an overuse injury
