Increasing my trail running distances past half marathon now and realised I need to carry stuff with me as very remote area...so I'm looking for recommendations please for a backpack / hydration pack to fit a small frame (my back is really narrow). To fit water and maybe waterproof and some food. Thanks.

Hi highland. Depending on what I'm doing I either have a bumbag with a small plastic bottle that I fill up with en route, or for longer routes I have a Haglof Gram 7 rucksack which holds a hydration system and has a small amount of room for other things. I usually take a jacket in there, waterproof trousers, compass and small print out map of where I'm going. Also means you can carry your phone too. Gram pack also has handy waist belt pockets for food / phone so you don't have to take it off every time you want something. As it's a running sack the waist is high so it should be problem for your frame. If it doesn't suit Salamon, Inov8 and OMM do good ones too, but I'd def go for the side pocket design Grin

Thanks runtothehills, that's really helpful. I'm only asking about my small frame as I have difficulty with hillwalking rucksacks as the straps never seem to do up tight enough. And I don't live near any shops so can't try any on, will have a look at the haglofs.
