I've just started running, I'm on week 3 of couch to 5k and loving it, I find good music essential for my motivation but already getting bored with my music.

So far I've found some Kate Bush, Haim and Elbow to be very motivating

What do you listen to when running?

Complete disco cheese- current playlist is Lucky (Daft Punk), Walking on a Dream (Empire of the Sun), Never Can Say Goodbye (Communards), Donna Summer, Moves Like Jagger (Maroon 5 + Christina A), bit of Boney M. I love my disco tunes Grin.

I'm running to Enter Shikari. Makes me feel like I can move myself further.

I like running to stereophonics, johnny cash and kaiser chiefs. Johnny is just the right rhythm for me.

This doesn't match your criteria in the slightest bit I really enjoy listening to podcasts as I run. It can really take me out of being overly competitive at parkrun, or just helps me feel like I'm really getting 'me' time Grin

Well done you ! I love hearing about people getting into running

Prodigy-Fat of the land for long runs, it's 56 minutes long: 5 for warm up, when Climbatize finishes I can stop running and just cool down for 5 min-during the last song iyswim
Royal Blood for short runs-33 mins: warm up during the first song, then run till the end of the album.

Interesting thread! I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Bobey M when running ?? Can't beat "Rasputin"!

I'd add Wipeout by the Surfaris and Freedom by Wham under the heading of great Disco cheese too!

It depends on what I'm up to.
For a longer run, my general playlist of upbeat pop/rock from the 60s to the present. I'll normally have it interspersed with the Zombies app for some interest.

If I'm aiming to certain paces on shorter runs, I'll use specialised play lists. Not really my taste, but the beats work. There's 3 C25k+ tracks, and I have 5k, 10k and tabata tracks. I still have a soft spot for "Laura" guiding me through.

I like dance music to run to, and Ministry of Sound Running albums are good for that.
