First outdoor run

After pounding the treadmill for about 6 weeks I finally braved an outdoor run. It was only just over 3 miles with the kids on their bikes so it wasn't too taxing as I had to keep stopping to wait for them as it was a hilly route but it did give me some practise on hills and it was good to involve them in my new hobby although not sure if I would have been better letting them run/walk the route too as they struggled on the hills on their bikes (no avoiding hills where we live and the bikes won;t fit in the car)

Well done! Most runners do it to get away from their kids for half an hr!! I sometimes do park run and leave Dh an kids in the playground at the beginning of the route. Great to involve kids in exercise. I always prefer outside running. It's not been too hot lately.

Also if kids are slow up hill don't wait for them at the top, instead go up and down the same hill a few times! Or get some water and pretend they are in race and you are a water station.
