Are running shoes ok for HIIT?

If not can anybody recommend a particular brand or style?

My normal trainers aren't offering any support, I've just quickly bought some running trainers tonight as I was in a rush. The shop assistants couldn't recommend anything (they looked at me a bit blankly) and I've now just googled and it says running trainers are no good for changes of direction in aerobics or HIIT. Should I swap them for cross trainers?

Thank you

It depends I just have a pair of good running trainers for everything running, circuits, body pump, gym, HIIT. It probably depends of how much hit you are doing and whether you will get the wear out of them.

I wear running trainers for HIIT and I don't have a problem. I have a few different pairs depending on what class I'm doing.

Thank you, I think I will exchange them for cross trainers as the running shoes I bought weren't very supportive when I tried them on at home and I need all the help I can get. I get sore joints and I want some decent trainers so I can't use it as an excuse to slack off!
