Help with fitbit and myfitnesspal

I have a fitbit to track steps and I use myfitnesspal to track what I eat. And I've linked the two. But I can't figure out if the two are working together or not as the fitbit calories numbers for meals doesn't change when I update mfp. And the fitbit doesn't eg pick up an hour of Pilates I entered on mfp. Is this the way it's supposed to be ?

No that doesn't sound right. I have mine linked and as long as I enter everything into mfp then it synchs with fitbit.

Not sure how to fix it though sorry!

Thank you long. I had a couple of discussions with a fitbit tech support person but I didn't understand the responses (I'm not usually so dim!). I've reinstalled, restarted etcetc. Are you using a smartphone android app or laptop version ? I wonder if that's the problem....

Android app. It just worked first time for me so not sure what to suggest!

I've just reconnected the two, I've completed today's log on mfp and fitbit says I have 1200 calories left for the day.... Maybe I'll try mfp support next ! Thanks for responding though long. Are you finding the two tools useful ? I'm always shocked by how little I move abs how much I eat, but if I look in the mirror I really shouldn't be surprised at all Smile

Yay! Glad you connected the 2 eventually. I am finding it useful. Been using mfp for a while but fitbit is new to me and it's been a great incentive for me to walk everywhere and be more active - I'm determined to get my 10,000 steps! The calorie allowance freaks me out a bit though, it seems so high.

Ah. Well they are connected but still not talking. Customer support days wait 24 hours for things to catch up but I'm not convinced. Still, it is at least possible, just not by me at the moment.

Sorry, completely misread that. Obviously not awake yet! I hope you get it sorted. There's nothing more frustrating than having a new bit of kit and not being able to use it properly.

Bit of a break through..... Disconnected and reconnected via the desktop version while at work and hey presto it looks like I've eaten too much today. Boo hiss !!
