Nasty pain

I wonder if anyone can advise.
Last week I started a C25K training programme. This week is week 2.
Everything going well until Monday just gone. When I was coming to the end of my run I started to feel pain in both feet. The pain goes from just below the ankle joint all the way down the side of each heel in both feet. Hobbled home and then rested for two days. Feet seemed ok. Just now done 2x Davina 7 minute fit workouts as a warm up before going for a run and as I started my run I nearly came down because of the same type of pain. There is no pain when I am resting and minimal pain when I walk but excruciating when I try to run.

I have very good specially bought running trainers. I have been running on grass as well as a pavement. Am at a loss as to what it is as I was fine last week having gone out four times.

Any thoughts? Feel really down about it as I have been really fired up about starting my training and I got my first 5k race pack today for a race in July

Sounds like you need to rest for a few days (basic muscular strain can take up to 6 weeks to heal) then start exercising again, but build up gradually / do less that involves your legs. Every time you feel the pain start to build up again, stop!

Voltarol gel or tablets can help healing, as can arnica cream. Also RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevation.

HTH
