Why do I keep getting a stitch?

I'm on week 8 of c25k and keep getting a stitch! I thought it was because I wasn't leaving enough time after eating, so I went out before dinner the other day and had the most agonising one yet Angry

At the moment I'm just slowing my pace and running through it. It tends to disappear by the time I've finished the run but it's impacting my speed and it's really painful!

Unfortunately I have a lot of hills to contend with which I think may not help, but is there anything I can do to prevent the stitch and what should I do if I get one?

Thanks! That's really helpful. I did wonder if breathing might be a factor...

Yep. Breathing. Take lots of deep breath to lift your diaphragm.
