I don't think I need too many functions. Thanks

I have a garmin forerunner 210, whih is great. They don't make it any more, and the 220 which is the next one up is a bit bells and whistles if you only want simple. However, my friend has an FR10 and loves it, it's accurate GPS wise, but it's also a pedometer so you can wear it all the time and get a record of how many steps you are doing. Then when you run, switch it to GPS mode and off you go.

Thanks Socks! What is the FR10, is it a Garmin?

I started with a Forerunner10, and its been great, and very easy to use. I have a multisport Garmin now, and love that, but it is larger and much pricier

Ok, cool. And do you monitor HR - is it not necessary?

The FR10 doesn't do HR, but the more expensive ones do. I only use HR when I'm doing HR zone based intervals on the bike

Thanks CMOT! I don't think I'll need the HR function then from what you've said :)

I have the garmin forerunner15 it's almost the same as the forerunner10 except longer battery life and you can use a heart rate moniter. I think it does a few Other things the 10 doesn't but they are comparable.

They are on offer on amazon at the moment and john Lewis.

I love my Garmin Forerunner 10. I've had it about 8 months now and it does everything I need it to.

Thanks all, just ordered a Forerunner 10. No excuse for not getting out now! Hope I'll like it.
