Nike Capri Running Tights

Hi.

I have recently bought a pair of Nike Filament Capri Running Tights. They have a gusset lining built into them. What is the purpose of the gusset lining? Does it mean they are designed to be worn without underwear?

Couldn't swear to it, but yes I am pretty sure the idea is to go commando in them, so as to avoid the dreaded chafe.
