Just over a week to go, getting nervous now ! This will be my longest run, ever ... I've done a few 10Ks & have followed the right training which took me up to 9 miles. I am kind if looking forward to it, anyone else running it ?

Hi Nitty. I'm doing it too! Live on channel 5 you know, don't forget to set you Sky+ so you can see if you can see yourself!!
I'm terribly excited and terribly nervous, it's the longest distance I will have run too.

Hi I did it a few years ago. It was the first time I'd run 10 miles. It was quite wet and windy but I still enjoyed it. Think the worst part was the last two miles up the seafront with the wind and rain coming at me but would still do it again. Good luckSmile

Cardiff - thanks for the reminder about channel 5, although I'm not sure it want to see how I look at the end ! Did 3 miles today & found that hard !! Just have to believe all the training works. How early are you planning on getting there ?

Orange - tea I've heard the last bit is the hardest, used to live on Portsmouth do know it's just about always windy on the front !

I did 6 miles this afternoon nitty and it was hard going. I've had a lot on at work this week and I haven't been sleeping too well so I'm hoping it's that and I'll be all good next Sunday!
I'm going on my own next weekend so I'm going to get there quite early as I'm going to need to leave my stuff in the bag drop. I'm going to aim to drop my bag off at about 9am I think. I'm in the Green wave so I will then have to hang about and soak up the atmosphere for about two hours!
Have you got family or friends coming to support you?

Nittyb · 19/10/2014 21:17

Well done on 6 miles today :-) I'm in green wave too, family coming with me but still not sure how early we need to get there, got a 2 hour drive. I'm running for Parkinson's UK with 'Anita' on my vest if you spot me ! Are you going to do any more runs ? Think I'll try and another couple of short slow ones.

I am going out on Thursday I think, probably only for about half an hour. That will be my last run then before the big day!
I will keep an eye out for you at the start. I will be wearing a bright orange running vest. If you want I can PM you my race number and you can keep an eye out for me too!

Nittyb · 21/10/2014 19:21

Yes, PM me your number and I'll look out for you. I think there may be quite a few people there though .... !

I wish I'd seen this sooner! I was in green wave too! Really enjoyed the atmosphere but found the course a bit dull if i'm honest.

I did 1.37 which was slower than I'd hoped but I have a knee injury that is being far too stubborn for my liking. I'm just about to sign up again for 2015 Grin
