Well started training for 0-10k to coincide with race tomorrow as the end if it but combination of factors meant I had to restrict training times so went back to c25k. Anyway race is tomorrow and I have only got up to 28 mins running at a lousy 11.32 Min mile pace. Going for it anyway but quietly panicking!

Excellent advice from BlueChampagne on another thread for a MNer who felt under prepared for an upcoming half was this; it's not really a race! concentrate on finishing rather than time, allow yourself walking breaks and water breaks.

Good luck! Enjoy the atmosphere!

Good luck!!

You will be ok

Here I am - take walking and water breaks, channel your inner stubbornness, do lamp posts - anything to get past the finishing line! You'll always beat the couch potatoes, and if you're inspired, you can train more for the next one.

See, I told you she was good

I did it I did it I did it!!!!!!!!

Ran the whole way, no walk breaks okay a crap time of 1.15 but I wasn't the last over the line. Slightly wobbly at 8k but got on with it and even managed a sort of sprint finish. Thank you all, I was so nervous and nearly didn't compete at all but I am so glad I did!!!!!!

Well done!
Now go on and carb it up as your reward!

goldface · 21/09/2014 19:36

Fabulous! Don't say it's a crap time, good job and well done more like!

BlueChampagne · 22/09/2014 13:18

Well done you! Don't worry about the time, YOU DID IT! I hope you still have a big grin on your face.
