Scared of gym

I joined my gym at work but haven't used it. I'm scared too. Don't know how to use the equipment, it's always packed and no one is very friendly. I feel like i will be the out of breath, clueless one, holding up the queue of access to the machines.
I am not needing to lose a lot of weight, just want to try and budge my post baby tum and the extra bit if weight around my waist. I'm 5 ft 8 and just around 10 stone 3/4.

Can anyone recommend which machines would be best to use and what kind of circuit to follow?

Can't you book a session with an instructor when it's quiet? The last thing you want to do is injure yourself. If it's a decent gym and you explain what you want to achieve, they are there to help you.

Caveat: this comes from a cyclist turned runner who isn't a gym user!
