Is it too early to talk about Spring HMs?

Yes, it's too early, I know. I'm all excited to be back running again Grin Anyone else in the process of picking a Spring HM?

I'm thinking about Silverstone. In theory I shouldn't because I hate running in the wind and it's always windy there, and also because it's Nestle sponsored (boo hiss, etc). But I love F1 so how can I not want to run at Silverstone? It's not that far from me either.

The other option is Cambridge but it's more expensive.

Yes me!!

I've signed up for Silverstone this weekend! Thought Adidas were sponsors?

How about Milton Keynes half? Did that this year, it was may though, so almost summer really

I'd hate Silverstone tbh. I've decided I like city based events so theres lots of things to distract you, and I really don't like repeated laps.

Cambridge sounds much nicer to me

I'm still hankering after a spring marathon (have applied for London ballot & charity place) but I agree that Silverstone sounds dull. It's a motor-racing track - it's meant to be enjoyed at 200 miles per hour. It will be dull as anything at 7-ish mph. No real scenery, repeated laps….

EauRouge · 07/09/2014 21:38

The Cambridge one is laps too and I've seen it all many more times than I've seen Silverstone. But it won't be as windy.

HeySoulSister, have you done many HMs?

No just the mk half this year

I also have a ballot place for London marathon but I'm not hopeful. Silverstone appeals because it's formula one. And I love f1. Same with mk half. Running to finish line inside the stadium is what excited me most. Guess it's just the atmosphere.

Oh wow never realised you could run inside Silverstone!! Just finishing c25k really but am now thinking of signing up for that, I love f1 and to run there would be brilliant!! Grin

HeySoulSister · 07/09/2014 22:19

Do it!!!

It's £20

Look on YouTube... You get thef1 music as you start and a medal shaped like a car tyre... And there will be tyre marks on the ground and everything lol Blush

Actually, part of me thinks DP and my boys won't mind so much as I drag them along to watch me in yet another 'event'. They might enjoy this one more than race for life!

HeySoulSister, see you on the grid Grin

1am, if you're just finishing C25k then you could manage a HM by March

You will. I've now got a team of 9 women signed up! Wish we had decided to run for charity now!
