I have recently been diagnosed with joint hyper mobility syndrome
I have been told Pilates would be good for strengthening the muscles around my joints (will be getting physio also)
Does anyone do it? Is is good?

I would be a beginner, could I just go to a class and join in or am I better trying to find a specific type of class?
Any information would be appreciated

I do a weekly pilates class that I find invaluable.
I would say to start with a beginners class as the breathing with the moves is easier to pick up at a slower pace.

I have been going for about a year now and I am definitely stronger than I was before.

Hiya. I also have hypermobile joint syndrome and find pilates to be a great help. I started when I was diagnosed 5 years ago and haven't looked back. My only problem now is that I relocated and so can only see my fab teacher once a month as its a long way to travel every week and am struggling to find a teacher close enough that does what I need without costing the earth! xxxx
