Running with a pram - any tips?

My baby is five months old and I've started the couch to 5k. I don't have child care so I need to take the baby with me.

Do you have any suggestions on how I push the pram and run? I try to have the bar up high so I don't stoop as I run. Is it better to run one handed and swap over every few mins?

Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing myself.
What kind of pushchair do you have? Do you think we can use any pushchair or does it have To be a special jogging one?
I am looking to do Couch to 5k soon as well, just need to sort the pushchair thing out!

I've got the standard Mamas and Papas Sola pushchair. It's got one long bar which makes it easier to push while running but I do end up with an ache across my shoulder blades.
Running on a flat, Tarmac surface is much easier than trying to get on and off curbs. I do feel like there must be some magic technique that I need to know about!

I've just had a look on eBay and there are a lot of second hand sport prams for sale. Does anyone know which ones are best?

I have an old style fixed front wheel mountain buggy, I run off road and on road, it is superb. What you want is a three wheeler with one handle bar and a fixed front wheel, I do believe baby jogger have a running pushchair. The shoulders will stop hurting and it's great for arm muscles, dc3 is 13 weeks old and now comes out with me, he is decidedly lighter than dc1 and 2! :)

I run with an Out n About Nipper. You can also often pick up the fixed wheel older Instep Nipper buggies cheap which are also good for running.

Both tend to be cheaper than specialised running buggies, but still good for running, including going reasonably fast (I overtake quite a lot of non-buggy runners). I think I paid £70 for my Out n About single on gumtree and bought it specifically to run with. I'd much much rather run with that than my bugaboo cameleon.
