Anyone found a stability/exercise ball beneficial?

I need to use something to start exercising again while being gentle to my back but when I look at the exercises with the ball they just don't look enough to actually do anything.

My normal workouts would usually include shredding, kettle bells and Hiit but I can't do them at the moment as my back is playing up.

Thank you.

I use mine for yoga (back bends) and for abs, you can use them for back extensions.

Plenty of ideas on youtube!

Thanks for the reply.
I'll probably buy one and just give it a go, see how I get on.

as home exercise equipment goes they are pretty cheap, and fun :o

I used mine only in pregnancy and it was fab. no time now

Yeah they are cheap - apparently I need a 65 cm one for my height :)

I've heard they're good and comfy to use in pregnancy - I can imagine when I think back (many moons ago) that they probably would be.
Who knows maybe it will come in handy for me for that reason too. I'm currently (long term) ttc :)

now I'm trying to think of some sex positions that could incorporate a stability ball :o

We have one each for the children at their computer desks and have since they each were 9 (ds nearly 15 and dd 11 now), they aren't doing any particular exercises on them but (anecdotally) their core strength and posture seem much better than that of their friends.

Suzanne, I have a few in mind :)

That's a good idea Oddboots, it's so easy to slouch when we sit in chairs, I'm guilty of it and I have to remind myself to sit with correct posture.
